LIMA, OH (WLIO) – The City of Lima already looking ahead to the summer of 2024 with its Mowing Expo.
This is the second year of the expo. It was created to provide mowing opportunities for nuisance properties in the city to local companies. Last year more than 649 properties were mowed with 8 different bids. This year they hope to create several smaller bids so micro-businesses can compete. The expo will have bid packets on hand and several other resources available.
“It is an opportunity to just come and learn. So we are not expecting anyone to come that night with their full bid ready to go. You’re able to come, hear about the bid, see that bid opportunity, and then meet with community partners. Do you need workman compensation? Do you need bond insurance? Those will all be available there for you. Do you need a small business loan? Do you need a small business plan? We’ll have all those resources there,” said Amber Martin, Workforce & Small Business Development coordinator.
The expo is part of a multifaceted approach to create more opportunities for Lima business owners. It will be held Wednesday, January 10th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Lima Senior High School cafeteria.
