Georgetown bar reconsiders age limit policy

Clubhouse, the reboot of the previous Church Hall bar and restaurant in Georgetown, seems to be having pushback to its new “no-a single-below-23” plan.

Church Corridor, which opened in 2018, turned preferred with the higher education-aged crowd. The entrepreneurs needed to pivot to a a lot more upscale all-working day procedure with Clubhouse. The 23-and-more than coverage was supposed to enable with that.

“We want to be a relaxed, wonderful location alternatively of a mosh pit of beer on the floor,” Eater DC quoted co-founder Geoff Dawson before this 7 days. He also lifted considerations about underage drinking, fake IDs and challenges of liquor license fines.

In an email to WTOP, Dawson said, “We have listened to from a lot of people, and we are reconsidering that situation.”

Clubhouse is a cavernous, two level house with a few bars. It is at present open up afternoons and evenings and will add breakfast, including breakfast burritos and avocado toast, starting Aug 25.

It is found underneath Georgetown Park, at 1070 Wisconsin Avenue.
