Today, in a 6-3 decision, conservative Supreme Court justices ruled that president Joe Biden’s plan to forgive up to $20,000 in student loan debt is unconstitutional. This means that the 26 million Americans who signed up for the program will have to pay back their loans in full.

It’s a sad day for progress and for those of us who are still shouldering thousands of dollars in student loan debt (myself included) who thought we might get some relief. As of right now, payments will resume in October 2023 and interest will begin accruing again on Sept. 1, 2023.

With all that in mind, I thought we should take a minute to remember that student loans are, above all else, a total scam. Here are 17 screenshots to prove it:

1.Remember, consistency is key when “paying off” your student loans:

2.And with all the money you pay, you can rest easy that you’re going to receive some GREAT service in return:

6.And even when you’re THIS CLOSE to finally paying it off, they’ll keep trying to suck you dry:

15. I mean, it would be SO UNFAIR to get our loans forgiven, right?

PPP loans were created in 2020.Within 1.5 years, over 80% of them have been forgiven, totaling $600+ billion.Student loans started around 1958-1965.60+ years later & .6% of student loan debt has been forgiven. No one asked how we would pay for business loan forgiveness.

16.And remember, no matter how hard you try to make people understand, there will always be someone bragging about how THEY managed to pay for school…when going to class cost $10:
