Hello A-J readers!
May is shaping up to be a busy month. In the first week of the month, we learned the stories behind Revival Mill and Colorful Cat Cafe. We also got expansion details on Shaquille O’Neal’s Big Chicken franchise coming to Lubbock, Amarillo and Oklahoma City.

Multiple businesses announced a slew of special deals. Planet Fitness locations everywhere are offering free summer gym memberships to students ages 14-19, and sign ups are open now. Starting Monday, Whataburger educators can benefit from week-long specials on free breakfast items, and receive a discount on the Whatastore. Cinemark will bring back their Summer Movie Clubhouse program, with tickets going on sale on May 18.
On the other side of that, Tuesday Morning and Bed Bath & Beyond locations across the companies have started their out-of-business closing sales this week. Tuesday Morning is officially shutting down, whereas Bed Bath & Beyond could get a buyer, if they are lucky.
Side note for anyone shopping at those closing sales, please be nice to the employees. As someone who worked for Hastings during the shutdown, I can recall how harsh customers could be. Please be kind.
Stay tuned next week for upcoming business news, including the story behind a Colorful Cat Café.
As always, thank you for reading and supporting the A-J.
