NY Times hires Carreyrou for investigative biz team

We are thrilled to announce that John Carreyrou has joined bizday as an investigative reporter.

For many of you, John requires no introduction. Throughout a two-decade career at the Wall Road Journal in New York, Paris and Brussels, he protected every little thing from company scandals to intercontinental relations to Medicare fraud, finding up to Pulitzer Prizes (and many other awards) alongside the way.

In 2015 and 2016, John’s article content about Theranos led to the blood-tests company’s collapse and the eventual conviction of its founder, Elizabeth Holmes, on fraud prices. His critically acclaimed 2018 e-book, “Bad Blood: Secrets and techniques and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup,” was a runaway intercontinental bestseller and spawned John’s strike podcast about Holmes’s prison trial.

John grew up in Paris, wherever his father was (and remains) a radio and television journalist. Nowadays he lives in Brooklyn with his spouse, Molly Schuetz (an editor at Bloomberg Information), with whom he has three young children. A person is an aspiring tunes producer, another strategies to develop into a skilled ballerina, and the third will before long show up at John’s alma mater, Duke University. (Let’s keep that Duke/UNC rivalry in check, folks!)
