The UFC returns to Brazil on Saturday night with a Fight Night card headlined by a heavyweight clash between Jailton Almeida and Derrick Lewis. The event is the UFC’s first in Brazil since January.
Lewis is one of the most popular fighters in the UFC, due to a combination of his oversized personality and big finishing power. While he has only won two of his five most recent fights, Lewis holds the UFC record for most knockouts in the Octagon, having stopped 14 opponents with strikes.
Almeida is on a 14-fight winning streak, including five wins in the Octagon. All of his 19 career victories have come via stoppage, with seven knockouts and 12 submissions.
While it’s something of a cursed phrase, the fight seemingly guarantees a finish for the winner.
